is there any way to retrive a deleted mail?

we have exchange server 2000 with OL2K on every
workstation having win2k prof OS.

we have person folders (PST) files for all users. one user
has deleted an important mail from both his inbox &
deleted items.

is there any way we can retrieve this mail.

please advice.

There is a method but it doesn't guarantee anything. This would be the
moment to consider making back-ups.

Just being curious; why do you use pst-files for storage when you've got an
Exchange database or are these used for archiving?
