I have some applications that use to work, but now come up and lock up
Excel. I am thinking that if I could delete the digital certificates
associated with them, I could at least look at the Excel code by
selecting "Disable Macros" and maybe figure out what's gone wrong.

But I can't figure out how to delete the darn digital cerificates.
Anybody who know how?

What type of Digital Certificates are you speaking of?

First try opening Excel in Safe Mode

Start>Run excel.exe /safe which will disable all macros and you should be able
to get into Excel to open a file.

To deal with digital certificates in general you would use the Microsoft
Management Console.

Start>Run mmc

But I would suggest you not be dumping any certificates if you don't know the
possible consequencs.

If the DC's were created by the Office SelfCert Tool, go ahead on it.

On the off chance you mean digital signature (which disables the window that
asks about macros, enable or disable) instead of certificates. You can
remove a digital signature by going to the excel icon in the upper left
corner of your worksheet and right click>select "view code" Now goto
Tools>Digital signatures> Remove....

As always you might want to try this on a copy to make sure it answers your
questions before expermenting on you reall workbook.

I hope this helps
