Is there an 'Edit' function in the Master Category List?

I would like to know if there is a way to edit the Master Category List's
contents by 'renaming' a Category so that one does not have to always ADD a
new category and then open each task to put it under the new Category and
then finally DELETE the old category from Master Category List.

i.E., one has any number of tasks tied to an existing Category--all one
wants to do is change that category's name without having to go through
changing each task to one's new category that one had to ADD because I cannot
see an EDIT function for the MASTER CATEGORY LIST.

try this: In the By Category view, select all the tasks you want to change,
right-click them, choose Categories and change the category for all of them
there.
