Is there an easy way to communicate between handhelds and access?

I have written an access database to track herd management information. Some
users want to use their handheld in the barn to input medical information
during the checkup and then download that into the access program on their
desktop when they get back from the barn or the field. Does anyone have any
good ideas for interface or routines that are already working?
