Is there a way to spell check a protected sheet?

I have created a form which has the users enter in a lot
of text in various parts of the workbook. Because there
are also several calculations going on in the background,
and to preserve formatting I would like to protect the
sheet.

When I try to spellcheck the sheet or the objects which
have text that is not locked, Excel informs me that I
cannot spell check a protected sheet.

Is there a workaround for this?

Can you give the users a macro that unprotects, checks speling, then reprotects?
