Is there a way to backup my Outlook category list/labels then rest

I just had to get a new HD for my laptop. I was able to get all my files
back, but my master category list and labels were gone. Is there a way to
save them? To be honest, I don't mind retyping them ... the biggest problem
is having to re-label everything and put them back into their correct
categories again. It's very time consuming!

I'm worried because I think I may have to do it all over again because the
new HD isn't sounding too good.(

Thank you,

For the master category list, see http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/olcat.htm.

As far as the labels go -- are you talking about calendar item labels, or
something else? If you simply reused your original .PST file, the labels
should still be intact. How did you get your data to the new hard drive?

I tried to just import my backup files (calendar, contacts, notes, tasks) and
realized that would not work. I then I tried to reuse the .pst file, but it
didn't work either. I'm really not sure if there's a way to do this. It
seems like there should be because it takes a long time to label and category
everthing.

Thanks for your reply,
Jody )
