As far as I remember there is viewer-only for Word (2003 and older) documents.
This viewer does not require a full
MsOffice installation but remains slim and tiny and is only able to
display the documents.

However I did not found a place where I can download such a browser.

Can someone help me ?

Thank you

Hi Ramesh,

I use Microsoft Works Spreadsheet to view Excel files. As long as the
formulas are not too complicated it works fine. I had Excel Viewer
installed until I figured out I didn't really need it. I also have MS
Office 2003 sitting on my desk gathering dust. Come to think of it,
everything on my desk gathers dust. ;-)

Wes,

Same here. that's the reason I uninstalled it completely few months ago. I now have the light-weight viewers installed. In case of any emergencies, I simply use Wordpad to type letters, etc.

Yes.

You have Viewer for Microsoft Word and Powerpoint. The viewer application
will help you view all the word document and powerpoint file(s) in your
folder. This is very useful when you want to archive and view file in a
folder, when you do not have a complete office installation. You can also
have a the viewer application stored in a floppy for future purposes.

Hi Ramesh,

I use the heck out of Notepad and Word 2002. For some reason I hardly ever
use Wordpad.
