Is there a vga to rca video (tv) converter?

I am buying a laptop that has a vga out port. I travel a lot and wish
to use it as a portable dvd player to plug into tv's in motels on the
road. I know likely I'd need rca plugs for this and few have s-video
My question, is there some type of cable and box that converts the
signal so I can simply plug it in and hook it onto the TV?

Which jumper cable would I need? Thanks for the link you sent. I have
looked all over and haven't been able to find one of these devices and
this looks perfect! I will be using this with a laptop which of
course has the built in monitor and external vga port. I have it on
order now so don't know how that works. I don't know if it outputs to
both the monitor and vga port at the same time or if you choose which
one but since I am using it on a laptop with a built in monitor would
I need that jumper cable?I assume that's only if I run the cable as a
pass-through out of the box to a external monitor. If that's the case
I won't be doing that so I assume I just need teh box, nothing else.
Is that correct?

I would call Tigerdirect and ask them if the product you ordered comes with
a monitor cable. If not, your gonna have to order one also. They can handle
both of those questions. As far as running your LCD display and monitor, you
should be able to. I had a Gateway Solo2500 back in 98 that allowed me to
run both at the same time. Good luck.
