Is there a page limitation / file size limitation in Word 2003?

I have an 85 page Word document, just shy of 10 KB, that is behaving very
badly. It is chock full of styles and pictures. Is this too much for Word?
Editing is very slow and twice now it has completely frozen the application.
In addition, selecting and changing a small bit of text, font, bold, simple
things, often makes global changes. Perhaps this particular document has
been corrupted?

For one of the problems, see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/WholeDocumentReformatted.htm. That
alone could cause the document to be unmanageable. Word can handle up to 32
MB of text alone, not counting any graphics. How well your system manages
this depends primarily on the amount of RAM you have and to a lesser extent
the amount of free HD space (processor speed is less significant). Your
video driver will also be stressed to its capacity by Word more than most
apps.
