Is there a 64bit XP Pro driver suitable for Matrox G200eW video?

Hi, I have a Dell PowerEdge R410 Server with an onboard Matrox G200eW
video controller. Long story short, we have installed the 64bit
version of Windows XP Pro on the server. We have been able to find
drivers for all of the devices except the video controller.

Matrox’s website does not have an XP Pro 64bit driver for the G200eW.
It does say that the G200eW is based on the G2+ chip set. I was
hoping that there might be a generic G2+ 64bit video driver out there,
but I have not been able to find one.

Anybody, got any ideas?

Supermicro has a board with G200ew.

All I can suggest to you, is download and unzip that.

Make a backup of C:, in case the driver messes up. Then
you can roll the OS back, if this experiment fails.

The contents of the ZIP might be similar to this. This is the 32 bit driver.

This could be for Win2003 = S03X32.inf
This could be for Win2008 = S08X32.inf

I would right-click on the S03X32.inf and select "Install" from the
context menu. Maybe it will install. Maybe not. If you install this
way (INF style), you might not be able to remove it later. There
would be no entry in "Add/Remove". While you can roll back one
level of driver, from Device Manager, I wouldn't want to bet
my life on how clean that was. That's why I'm suggesting a
backup of C: as the safest thing to do.

Sometimes, you can tell from the INF file, it isn't intended for a
particular OS. I don't really see anything in that file, to prevent
an INF style install. You can try it and see if it "takes". If
it completely de-stabilizes your OS, then use your backup of C: to fix it.

I wasn't able to track down the old driver, on either the matrox.com site
or on the nuvoton site. If nuvoton bought the G200ew chip design,
it is not apparent from the contents of the nuvoton web site.

The Matrox site is particularly poorly designed, so not being able
to find the driver is no surprise.
