Is soliciting paid help allowed in the group?

I know that there is strong opposition to "advertising" your services but is
the asking for paid help allowed?
Wanted to ask before I got myself in trouble with a group that has been a
big help to me many times.

It's not done very often, but I've seen some posts in the past where people
have said they were willing to pay for work to be done. I don't know that
that is a problem. However, who / what responds to such requests is then
outside anyone's control < g >.

There are various forums on the internet where one can post work project
requests and get responders; I haven't used them, but I've heard of them.
You might try that approach, as you're more likely to get "more valid"
responses.

Or, you could look through the newsgroup postings and see if people whom you
respect for answers have a "signature" with a website by which you could
contact them directly and make your request for paid work.
