Is QFECHECK reliable?

Hello, I'm running qfecheck.exe Version 5.1.2600.1271, I think it's
the most recent. It tells me KB923689 should be reinstalled. This is
a security update to windows media.

I reapply the update, reboot and qfecheck STILL tells me
KB923689 should be reinstalled.
What's up with that?

Thanks for the info - seems there's a KB article for everything
these days.
My symptoms were as reported there.
