Is Outlook/Hotmail not working today, or is my computer or connection
not working?

It seems to be working now. What I think happens is, the cleaner pulls
the plug out in order to plug in her vac, and a little while later she
puts it back in again.

Do you mean Outlook.com? That is not Outlook, which is an e-mail
program that is a component of Microsoft Office.

Please don't mix the two up, and note that this is a newsgroup for
Outlook, not Outlook.com.

Microsoft has confused countless people by giving such similar names
to two such different things.

I do apologize. It turned out that the problem was with BT anyway.

Thanks for the apology, but it really wasn't necessary; I just wanted
you to be aware of what Outlook and Outlook.com were

And I'm glad you found the problem.

Is there a Newsgroup for Outlook.com?

Not that I know of, but since I have no interest in Outlook.com, I
haven't looked for one and don't know for sure.

I don't know of a newsgroup that discusses Microsoft's e-mail services
(versus their local clients, like Outlook [Express], WLM, etc). Looks
like you are stuck using their crappy web-based forums, like:

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com

If Brit Tel was at fault then it seems the problem would be larger than
just the inability to reach a Microsoft web site, like all Internet
access was gone so you couldn't reach any web site.
