HiAlex,
Regarding your post below, the firewall provided in Windows XP - Internet
Connection Firewall (ICF) is a good first step in securing your computer.
Also, please visit the Windows Update site to install all critical updates.
You can add additional security by installing Norton Internet Security,
which adds protection including more configurable firewall, Antivirus, Spam
filtering, Privacy features, Ad/pop-up blocking, Parental Controls, etc.
Microsoft cannot endorse specific 3rd party programs and I should mention
that there are other excellent security products available. Here is a KB
Article that contains contact information for most Antivirus vendors:

| Subject: Is Norton Internet Security still worth getting if running XP?
| Date: Sat, 24 Jan 2004 07:51:16 -0800
|
| Don't know if this is the right place for this question,
| but I just got a new computer running Windows XP and I
| noticed that the network settings have the 'Firewall'
| option, along with some other enhanced security settings.
|
| So, are there any real benefits to installing Norton
| Internet Security 2004 when running Windows XP, or will
| it not provide any tighter security on my computer?
|
| Thanks for your feedback!
