Maybe I have a trojan or something? I have Win XP Home Edition and I use IE
v 6.
I am online (cable connection) and can get my email but as for the web, I
get nowhere. Down at the bottom where you can see the address of where
you're going, it says
http://www.google.com/hws/dell-usuk/afe?hl=en&channel=us&s= over and over
and it just clicks and clicks but wont go anywhere. I cant even go anywhere
to find support or help for it. I have run my virus scan on Norton Internet
Security and it doesnt find anything. I have also ran AdAware and deleted
everything it turned up and rebooted. Didnt help at all. I am stuck like
chuck. Thanks, Gina

Anyone?

If something has "Hooked" into IE, then go to Control Panel (Classic
View). Click Internet Options. Click the Programs (TAB), then the
button that says "Manage Add-ons". Look through the list and count
how many entries are present. It may be necessary to temporarily
disable the Add-ons to get IE to work for you to clean up the system.
Certainly using NIS makes untangling this harder than it should be.
From the URL you posted, I'm assuming this is a Dell PC ?

Yes, it's a Dell.
I just found out something strange.
When I disable NIS, I can get online, no problem.
I tried to uninstall it, but it won't let me. I had to restore to get back
where I was.
Now I'm wondering if my NIS was hijacked. Talk about weird.
I have it temp disabled for now, but need to figure out how to get it off my
system.
I may contact their support....maybe they can help me.
NIS worked fine on my old computer. This one is less than a month old.
And I am not used to XP! Thx, Gina
