IS it safe, ive heard some very bad stories.

Also, my pc wont let me install PLUS! for WindowsXp. should i not install
service pack 2 if i cant even install PLUS!?

It is safe if you do not have problems imediately after install. If you have
problems restore back. JJ

I thought so. followed checklist and all was well. XP set for automatic
updates. SP2 installed and updated just fine. No error messages.
Tried to burn DVD on Iomega dual dvd-r +rw and not seeing drive with ezcd 6.
Worked fine before. Tried different dvd dics, cdr discs and not able to see
discs in drive. Tried to read winxp disc and nada.
Tried from Creative dvd drive and read nada.
System sees both drives and device manager tells me both drives working just
fine.
Well horror stories sezs this sometime happens.
Did restore to my last point few days pror to update. Same results. Virus?
Nope!
Got a creative cdrom from my win98 system. Installed and tried repair
installation. Booted from cdrom and tried to repair - hung up.
Rebooted and not able to read cdrom disc again. got my win98 floppy boot
disk and fdisk my drive after many, many hours of frustration. Formatted to
fat32. Rebooted and cdrom back. Installed win98 se. Installed winxp and
formatted to ntfs. working fine. Installed dvd-r +rw drive and now working
again. Would not work under win98 se however. Firmware was updated prior to
wiping out my HD.
I am back in operation on my win xp system again!
Problem not with cdrom I borrowed from my win98 system. system refuses to
recognize the darn thing. Can't get it to work on it anymore. winxp does
but win98 doesn't, go figure.
Nightmares galore on this new sp so be careful.
