Is it safe to delete these folders?

I have a number of folders in my Windows directory starting with "$",
(including $hf_mig$, $MSI3..., and $NtUninstall...) as well as a large
folder called ServicePackFiles. Since, combined, they take up over 1½ Gigs
of space, I was wondering if it was OK to delete them?

TIA

Hi,

You can safely delete the $Uninstall.... folders as long as you do not plan
to uninstall any given update (most don't). Leave the $hf_nig$ folder, as
well as the C:\Windows\ServicePackFiles directories as is. The latter is a
source for files protected by SFP.
