Is it possible to hide 3.5" floppy in Windows Explorer if there isn't a floppy drive installed?

My XP Pro doesn't have a floppy drive, it just feel silly that Windows
Explorer shows that there is a floppy driver installed. Out of the
curiosity. Is it possible to hide 3.5" floppy in Windows Explorer if
there isn't a floppy drive installed?

Thank you.

TweakUI is able to "turn off" the appearance of drives in Explorer. You can
download it from MS for free.

If you disable your floppy drive controller in the BIOS, that should do it.

You're right! XP does not have a floppy drive. That is part of your
computer, not the operating system.

Now, are you saying that even though your "computer" doesn't have a floppy
drive installed that you are seeing a floppy drive in Windows Explorer?

If so, say that!

What other drives do you have installed that emulate a floppy drive (flash
drive, key drive etc)?

Check your bios.
