Hello,
Is it possible to change the date in the footer in PowerPoint to a format
that is not an option. I am wanting to add brackets to one of the options?

Not sure I understand what you need to do.

Will this help: On the master slide first delete date/time from the date box
and then > insert date and time. You can edit it on the master slide (ie add
brackets etc)

I would put the brackets on the slide master in the date placeholder. So
you'd have something like this:

[<date/time>]

The <date/time> tells the master to pull the info from View|Headers and
Footers. So, go to View|Headers and Footers and check the box to show date
and time and choose either "fixed" or "update automatically."

That will then show [04/14/2006] (or whatever format you chose in
View|Header and Footer) on your slides.

I wouldn't delete the <date/time> from the placeholder in the slide master,
especially if you want the date to update automatically.

I would like to format my date/time differently. Is it possible to custom
format how the date/time shows? For example, I would like the following date
to show as:

16 Nov 06 1541Z
(I'd like to use the 24 hour clock if possible, with a 'Z' to indicate
universal time)
as

161541ZNOV06

Is this possible? I couldn't find anything yet that would allow me to do that.
Thanks,
TC

To use a custom date format you will need to generate using some code. Do
you know VBA?

Hi Bill,

No, I don't. I do use Access and was trying yesterday to see if I could
create something there to bring over to PowerPoint. But wasn't having much
success. I know in Access you can use the "=date()", "=time()" or "=now()".
That's about as far as I got.

Thank you..Tom
