I am trying to put a graphic on very edge of the right side of a document ...
can I eliminate the right margin so that the graphic will not have a space
between its right edge and the right edge of the document?

You can set the margin to zero if you wish. Word (or actually the printer
driver) will object, but you can choose to Ignore the warning. However, you
don't have to go to all that trouble - just put the image wherever you want
it.

The *question/problem* is whether your printer will be able to comply with
your demands. Most printers have minimum margin settings that they impose
regardless of what you specify. Very few non-commercial devices are capable
of edge-to-edge printing on standard paper sizes, even if they *can* do
'borderless' photo prints. They employ a technology that allows that for
photos but wouldn't provide acceptable results in text documents. Even at
the commercial level something like this is normally done on larger sheets
which are then trimmed to size.
