I use windows xp pro, and want to change the color of the taskbar in the Windows Classic theme. Is this possible? I want to change the standard grey color to black.

Right click on the screen and go to Properties--Appearance--Advanced. You
can change pretty much everything there.

Hi,

Sure, but it will have some side effects you may not like. Under Display
properties/Appearance tab, click advanced. Choose 3D objects from the
dropdown, then change the color to black. Click ok/apply/ok.

I *think* it may be possible if you go to Display - Appearance - click
Advanced and select the Active Title Bar. That is the one used for the
Title bar of any window, and the desktop is in effect just a window
with the Task Bar as Title bar
