Hello all, I'm working on some multithreading software development,
and I would like to be able to test on a core 2 duo and also a quad
cores for comparison. But I only have one decent PC. Do you have to re-
register XP when the processor (only) is changed? Any experience with
this?

Thanks

If you TRULY only change the processor - it is possible you will not have to
activate again (registration is optional, activation is required.)

However - if you have to change the motherboard along with the processor (I
would imagine you would need to do at least that) - you will probably (at
best) have to perform a repair installation and likely actrivate your copy
of Windows XP again. Not like that is too difficult - especially if you
have a Retail Copy of Windows XP...

Thanks you both!

It would be the same MB - I will swap out the dual core with an
extreme (quad), same FSB (1333MHz).
