Is HP BD01865CC4 18.2 GB drive really a 36.7 GB Fujitsu MAP3367NC?

One thing to try is a lower than max value, maybe max-1, it could be
different tools have counting start at 0 instead of at 1.

Sometimes it's more fun to fiddle with things for a bit, than to have
the results readily served :)
Still 18GB is better than a broken drive, so don't try too hard.

I tried several values, anything equal to or below it's present value
was accepted, any higher value rejected.

Otherwise, my sentiments exactly.

And yet another one with that POS newsclient.

Huh? Mozilla is what I use at the moment; any problems with that?
I don't see any extra lines.

Must have been a quirk of SCSIToolbox.
Setting the top LBA has nothing to do with Low Level Format.

Yes I think so too. It was an old version and it's probably fixed now.
Anyway, neither tool can do anything if the firmware won't allow it.

Yes, I know. It's a piece of shit.
They keep renaming the bloody thing but is doesn't ever get any better.

Yes.

Look better.
Thunderbird sees them as well and it is Thunderbird that is also
introducing them on reply, just like Mozilla does.
It doesn't appear to obscure it's own faults, unlike some others.

I'll repeat once again (is that the 3rd time now?):
SCSITool doesn't have the ability to change it at all.
Nothing to do with the firmware.
