Is Hotfix the answer ???

Hi - Can anyone shed light here.......

Experiencing great difficulty installing w2k on a Hybrid
PC system - Shuttle mobo, Amd AX1800+ & 80Gb HDD are the
key players.

Keep running into 7b STOP ( INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE )
or I believe it was 69 STOP ( IO1_INITIALISATION_FAILED ).

Have successfully loaded onto a Jetway mobo, AMD K6-450
system with 2Gb HDD ( & the 80Gb as a test ).

I notice my drive is listed as PIO 4 or ATA100 depending
on how I set the BIOS for UDMA recognition ( disabled /
auto respectively ).

Just read Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 260233
regarding ATA100 ( PIO 5 ?? ) and believe this is my
problem but it seems to be written for network installers
& I'm a 200 Pro Home User.

Is this my salvation & how do I translate the seemingly
Networked hotfix procedure into single PC terms ??

Any thunx, please post asap

Thanx B
Jake

Hello again

Conflict between W2K & ATA HDD & Shuttle BIOS......
Solved the problem overnight with much searching .

I'm using my W2K disk ( SP2 ).
As I can't load W2K, I can't apply SP3.
That's the real prob, as SP3 fixes ATA conflict.

Mooched on Seagate website & found a toggle prog to set
ATA100 to ATA66. This enables load, application of SP3
and retoggle to ATA100.

All is well
