Is the text marking "EVN GND" the same as "pin1" on round ide cables?

No. That is the ATA 66/100/133 ground wire (all even numberd wires in
a flat ribbon).
Pin 1 will (should) have a small triangle pointing to it, regardless
of the cable used. All header cables have that triangle round, flat,
ATA/IDE and others.
