Writting a survey page and want to use diagonal text at the top of the answer
columns. Is this possible in word?

You can do it using WordArt, although the graphic quality is variable with
small, plain text. Otherwise no. Horizontal and vertical are the only
options. PowerPoint and Excel can do it, so it's annoying (to say the
least!) that Word can't.

You could of course prepare the table in Excel and use edit > paste special
excel worksheet object from Excel to Word and retain Excel's formatting?
