Is Automatic Update compromised????

I just heard that Automatic Update needs to be shut off because someone
has figured out a way to send virus through it. I think this is BS
because they also said that it won't be corrected until Sept. 15
Anyone else heard of this???
 
No, what is the source of this information?
If it was real, it would be on the major news services.
Also Microsoft would have taken that server off line immediately.

The source is a friend of a friend. I agree it is BS
