"IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_NOT_EQUAL"

I recently purchased a number of new pc components and
assembled them myself. Had a few troubles with Serial ATA
HDD but eventually ironed them out and got Windows XP up
and running.

Asus A7V600 Socket A motherboard
AMD Athlon XP 2800+ Processor
Seagate Serial ATA 120GB 7200RPM 8mb Cache
ASUS V9520VidoeSuite GeForce FX 5200 with TV-in/out
2 x 512M GeIL PC3200 400MHz DDR SDRAM

System ran fine for a few days and then all of a sudden, I
try to boot Windows and receive the following message

"IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_NOT_EQUAL"

Windows suggests restarting the and running is safe mode;
I have tried this but receive the same error.

Can any advise on:
1. What may have caused this error?
2. How can the problem be overcome?

You have some driver or card that needs updating.
Installing an old version of EZ CD Creator with Direct CD
will cause this, bad RAID or SCSI drivers, and other
reasons. If applicable, apply the upgrade to XP
downloadable from Roxio's web site.

Tip: I recieved this error after installing the NVIDIA
graphics driver from Windows Update. Rolling back the
driver solved my issue. It is recommended, in most cases,
to get driver updates from the manufacturers site.

Is that a STOP error? Blue screen when stating up

I had that when I was using a motherboard which wasn't on the Hardware Compatibility list.
