irc.backdoor.trojan

nortons antivirus has detected irc.backdoor.trojan. access to the file was
denied. object name is c:\documents and setti...\xp[1].exe. i have scanned
with my antivirus, but it did not detect this trojan. the virus alert ony
comes up when windows is loaded .i have tryed searching for a removal tool
but with no such luck.any help would be great. thanks mark

What is the full path, Mark? That asked, did you follow it?

Mark,
You also should watch your windows folder for any security logs from
Norton. I had this same Trojan. I found the log by Norton and asked why it
was put there.
Seems it is the one place they can send info on this without the warning
being read first by the file. Be careful and watch for any signs of a
possible DNS. Best of luck.
