IR Hardware Not Detected While trying to setup TV on Ultimate

I have an ultimate install with the microsoft remote and a TV tuner by
hauppauge. The setup worked fine execept for the occational lockup but now I
tried to set it up again by running the wizward.
I can find the signal on my set top box but when I get to the IR part it
says IR hardware not detected even tough I have the remote working and
operating the box.
Any ideas?
