IPX not available

I'm trying to play a Westwood game over the network, but
it won't even let me into the network menu-- in the
options menu under network card it says "NO IPX available"
how can i fix this?
it also has spaces for socket number and destination
network.

It looks like nobody else has an answer, so I went looking on Microsoft's
site. I found this, which reports that it tells you how to configure for
IPX under XP. I hope it is some help.
