Ipconfig not working

I reinstalled Windows XP Pro yesterday and everything went well. However,
when I try to access my IP info by typing "ipconfig" into the "run" box a
command prompt pops up for only 1 second and closes. Any reason for this
happening?

You have to open a command prompt window first.
Try the following:
In the Run box, type cmd.exe.
Now enter ipconfig /all in the command prompt window.

You're right. I've done this a hundred times and this time I guess I just
