ipconfig not working?

I recently installed WinXP. When I issue the command 'ipconfig' from a DOS
prompt I get the following error message:

C:\WINDOWS\system32>ipconfig
Windows IP Configuration
An internal error occurred: The system cannot find the file specified.
Please contact Microsoft Product Support Services for further help.
Additional information: Unknown media status code.

The file is there as evidenced by:

C:\WINDOWS\system32>dir ipco*
Volume in drive C has no label.
Volume Serial Number is 344B-D589

Another way to get IP address:

Start->Settings->Control Panel->Network Connections
Right-click on connection, select "Status"
Click on "Support" tab.

HTH,
John
