getting 10.10.x.x address. won't seem to renew IP. going through linksys to cable modem. problem started when had 2 pc's with same name. now that we have that fixed...can't seem to renew the IP.

10.10.x.x is a private IP address, which the linksys should be assigning
on your home network if your cable service only supports one public IP
address. This is called "network address translation" and is the most
common way to join a network to a cable service in the US.
Make sure that your Ethernet connections are set to "obtain an IP
address automatically".
