IP address conflict with NIC removed from computer

Martin

Since removing a faulty NIC from my computer and
installing a new one, I keep getting an error message
indicating the IP address used for one of the NICs in my
server (Internet connection) computer is also assigned to
another NIC (the one removed), and the message asks if I
want to assign a different IP address to my (new) card. Of
course, I can't do that because the IP address in question
(192.068.0.1) is automatically assigned to the card when I
enable Internet Connection Sharing.

Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this reference to a
NIC that no longer physically exists in my computer?

Thanks in advance for all attempts to help.

Try this:

Computer Management, Device Manager
Click View, Show Hidden Devices
Expand the Network adapters, locate your removed NIC and then right-click it
and Uninstall

I Found the answer in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
Knowldge Base Article # 269155. Turns out the solution is
really easy.

Hope this helps someone else out there!!!
