Iomega External HD cannot be started.

I tried connecting an external IOMEGA 20GB HDD to a Compaq EVO N160 laptop
on Windows XP but it cannot be recognized and the error is "This device
cannot start (Code 10)". But it work fine when I connect to a desktop PC
with Windows 98.
