Iomega 250 ATAPI limited to just 8 mb storage???

Perplexing problem. When I try to send files to my 250
ATAPI Zip drive windows 2000 only allows me to transefer
8 mb of data and then says the disc is full, even though
device manager says the disc is almost empty. I have used
both 100mb and 250 mb discs and the same thing happens.
The total mb of files is only 56, but at 8 mb a disc that
would take a million discs, instead of the one it should
use. I just downloaded the latest Iomega drivers and it
still does the same thing. This is a work computer so I
don't know if they have even ever used the drive befoe so
I can't say when the problem started. Any tips would be
helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Try putting the files in a directory, and then copy the entire
directory to the zip disk

I don't remember the number, but there is a limit on how many
files you may copy to the "root" of any drive
