Invoice template problem

B

Brian S.

I have an invoice template created from the generic Microsoft one in Office
97, now used in Office 2003. The company now has a new name, address etc.
and I have changed everything on the underlying data sheet - using
"Customize" and "Unlock This Sheet" - and saved to a new name. My newly
named template can be accessed from the Excel "New" menu but appears with
the old data. If I unlock it and check, the new data is there. I'll be
gratefuil if someone can point ouy where I'm going wrong.

Did you open the actual template and make the changes or did you open a
workbook based on that template and save changes there?

I would go into Windows Explorer and browse to the template and open from
there, not from within Excel.

Make your changes and save as a new name making sure you save as a
template(*.xlt)

Thanks for the quick reply Gord. I just did it through Explorer and made
sure to save as .xlt but still no joy. The underlying data is what I want
but the displayed data is the old stuff from previous company

What do you mean by underlying data.

When saving as a new *.xlt you must clear all data from the old template
saving just the new company name and formulas.
