invoice numbering

I want to use an Excel template for invoices. How can I get it to generate
consecutive invoice numbers each time I create a new invoice? Thanks for any
help on this subject.

When I attempt the Registry method as mentioned in the referenced link,
I get "Runtime error 9 - Subscript out of range". Any idea what this
means?
