Invisible Task Bar

Task Bar does not show the START Button although the clock is displayed on
the right. Am using Windows 2000. When right clicking on the task bar area,
"lock the taskbar" is unchecked and "autohide the taskbar" is also unchecked.
Can't open any programs because there is not Start Button. Please help!!
