Cher

I think I created a folder on my laptop computer via the network from
my desktop and uploaded some files.

Actualy, I thought it was already there, but it may not have been.

I cannot see the folder either from my desktop computer or from the
laptop. I know It is there because I cannot create another with the
same name.

How did I do this and more importantly how do I make this visible?

No, setting the view options does not do it!
It is a single user system - with the other garbage that MS adds

Admin = Admin
Me = Admin
Guest = Guest
etc = less than Admin

The folder name is "d:\_Transfer"

I would be happy just deleting it but I have to see it first. There is
no irreplacable stuff in it.

Thanks

Cher

Hi,

Try to search for the folder from the command dos prompt
using the /s switch. Also log in as administrator and
browse through the "documents and settings" folder in the
partiton where XP is installed.

Hi Cher,

Have you tried to remove it via CMD?

Close all open apps. Open a command prompt (Start/Run/CMD) and navigate to
the directory with the offending file(s). Then open the Task Manager and
click on the Processes tab, select "explorer.exe" under the Process Tab.
Click "End Process".

In the opened Command Prompt, DEL the offending folder. Once done, go back
to the task manager and click on File/New Task (Run). In the dialog, type
explorer.exe and click OK.

Note: Could also opt for: ATTRIB -H -R -S filename before the DEL.

Thanks all.
I read that on your site Kelly. It didn't work.
I tried looking in DOS.
Nothing.

I just when back to do it again and it wasn't there.
Somehow it fixed itself.

maybe a reg entry was creating a fanthom folder.
I have run some reg cleaners in the meantime.

Maybe I will try to make it happen again - maybe not.

thanks
