Invisible Connector

Hello,
I was half-way thru creating a ppt using lots of elbow
connectors. For no apparent reason, any new connectors
that I add do not display. i.e. I can connect 2 boxes and
I get the red (lock) indicators, but the actual connector
line fails to appear after I release the mouse.

I'm sorry if this sounds obvious but is the background color of the slide
the same as the connector color?

actually I discovered my silly mistake after posting my
question. The format of the connector specified "No color"

doh!
