Is there any simply way to use excel to keep Inventory purchases,
sales, adjustments
and Balances ? I like to be frank, I am asking this because I
cannot afford to buy commercial versions.

tks in advance

Os.

An argument could be made that Excel can be used to track very modest
inventory transaction volume, but it would be a weak substitute for the real
thing.
Honestly, a database would be a better solution. If you have MS Access...it
offers pre-built models for various applications. One of them is Inventory
Control. There may even be an industry specific inventory model that would
meet your needs closely.

I hope that helps.
