Invalid IP Address - Automatic Private Address

Okay thinking I can solve this problem myself has come to an end. I
need some help.

I have a cable modem and wireless router connected and working fine. I
know this because I am on my laptop which is also connected wirelessly.
And my main PC which just got a new Linksys Wireless G PCI adapter put
in. No matter what I do, I cannot obtain an IP address.

I've tried

ipconfig /release (No operation can be performed on Local Area
Connection while it has its media Disconnected. I have no ethernet
cable plugged in because its wireless.

ipconfig /renew (An error occured while renewing interface Wireless
Network Connection: Unable to contact your DHCP server. Timed out.

I've also tried

Enabling and Disabling it
(Same Effect No matter how many times I do it.

Also
Repairing the connection.... Same thing.. Will pop up with an invalid
IP address.. then switch over to the Automatic one.

I checked the router settings and everything is perfect. Hence the
reason I am able to connect on my laptop. I don't know what else to
try. Please give me a hand if you are able too. Thanks a bunch!

Has the Linksys Wireless adapter successfully connected to (associated
with) the wireless router? If not, you won't be able to obtain an IP
address.

Make sure that the wireless adapter is configured with the right
network name (SSID), encryption type, and encryption key for your
router. Make sure that it hasn't accidentally connected to a
neighbor's router.

I appreciate your quick response. I believe the key may have been
entered incorrectly after installation of the new card. It now works!
Thanks a bunch!
