Invalid Email address - mail can be sent.

hi,
I have entered Email address as e.g. " abc@ test.com" and send a mail
by outlook.; and it can be sent.Blank space before/ after the domain name in
email address is seems to be invalid email id and mail cannot be sent but
outlook can be able to sent the mail.Why it can be?? Will u please explain?
