Invalid Argument

I have a very large database that I would prefer not to split. I keep getting
an "invalid argument" error message and am unable to compact and repair. I am
unsure what to do at this point.

When do you get the error? You may need to import all the objects into a new
database (create a new database, go to File | Get External Data | Import --
navigate to your current database and select all objects on every tab).
