Hi,

I have an access application that has worked fine until
about a week ago. Now, I am getting an "Invalid
Argument" error whenever I try to do certain things. For
instance, the application is designed to create a bunch
of make tables but I started getting this invalid
argument error about a week ago. Now, I can't even
manually create any make tables at all. Is there a
setting change that anyone can think of concerning this?

Thanks,

Chuck

Open to a code window. Click on Tools - References and look for a Missing
Reference. If a reference is Missing, note its name then uncheck it. Close.
Reopen and scroll down to find the reference and check it. Close and try
your database again.

Hi,

Thanks for your help. I checked the references and there
are six of them that are checked: VB for Applications,
Microsoft Access 10.0 Object Library, OLE automation,
Microsoft DAO 3.6 Object Library, Microsoft Active X Data
Objects 2.1 Library and Microsoft Visual Basic for
Applications Extensibility 5.3. My database runs on a
Windows 2003 Fileserv. I checked an old backup copy of
this that is loaded on my pc. The reports work fine on
my local copy and the same six reference are checked. I
have added a lot to this database since the last backup.
Any thoughts on why this is happening?

Thanks,

Chuck

Perhaps your database has become corrupted. Try creating a new empty
database and then use File - Get External Data - Import to import all the
tables, queries, forms, reports and modules from your existing database to
the new database. MAKE A BACKUP FIRST!!
