All of a sudden my Norton Win Doctor keeps finding the same 10 errors and it
can NOT repair them. All the errors are based into 2 groups:
1. MSAddnDr and
2. Microsoft RDO

I have NO idea where these type of files came from or even what they are ...
Norton lists them all as "Medium"
risk and I am having problems with my desktop freezing for a few minutes
after I reboot. Any idea
how I can safely get rid of them? Thanks and Happy
Holidays to all you wonderful helpers !!!

Bill ... you didn't write anything ... you just signed your name ... that
doesn't help me much!

One at a time, put MSAddnDr into Google, then Microsoft RDO
into Google.
[VisualStudio & VB6 files, were the answers I got.]
Norton loading can cause freezeup at boot/reboot. Give it time to load.
Try a Search in Explorer for the files, and see what program they're part of.
May be something you need.

I did that ... thanks for your advice, but I need the help of someone that
actually knows something.

No, actually it is *you* who are not listening. Norton WinDoctor was a
useful program under Win9x/ME. It is not useful and may actually be
harmful under Windows XP. Any conclusions WinDoctor makes on an XP
system are suspect. If you wish to continue using WinDoctor against the
recommendations of the people here - and naturally, that is your
prerogative - then you take your chances.

Any questions about Symantec's products should be directed to their tech
support.

To take it further, you should rid your computer of *anything* and
*everything* Norton. It *is* the help you need, whether you like it or
not. Norton is a piece of crap that installs itself all over your
computer and gives rise to false positives like you just got.

But, hey, it's your computer, do what you like!

Sir, I was asking about the sudden appearance of the two types of files on
my computer ...

1. MSAddnDr and
2. Microsoft RDO

NOT about Norton Win Doctor .... your response was totally irrelevant to my
question. I appreciate VERY much the help that more experienced people here
give to thus of us that don't know as much.

But I do not appreciate it when people like you give sarcastic, smart-assed
responses to people who are genuinely seeking help and answers.

And apparently, you know NOTHING about the appearnace of the two types of
files that I was asking about either:

1. MSAddnDr and
2. Microsoft RDO

If I ever have questions about Norton, you will certainly be the first
person that I ask ... in the meantime, I'm
looking for help about the sudden appearance of the
2 types of files listed above.

Remote Data Objects and MSAddnDr are developer based
components. Have you installed any coding products on your
PC ? Specifically any for accessing Databases ?

No, I would be clueless about using them. All I've installed recently are
my Belkin wireless roiuter drivers.

It's the best help you can get in this situation. Get rid of it then
deal with whatever issues you might have. They may not be real.
WinDoctor is a liability in the XP environment, but if you wish to fight
that battle you're more than welcome.

WinDoctor issues should be directed to Symantec tech support. You'll
have about as much luck there as you are having running it.

I know Win Doctor is for people who can identify a mistake when they see one.
I will overlook yours.
