Internet Problems

I recently updated windows xp and have DSL, but now I have a slow
internet connection ,especially on images and videos. Ive scanned for
viruses, spy/ad ware, etc, everything has checked out fine as far as
the health of the computer, and all hardware is working properly, so
what may be causing the problem?

During the time you were Dial-Up, did you use any kind of TCP/IP
optimizer tool ? If so, this would have modified settings, such as the
MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) and would need resetting back
to DSL/Cable settings.

To determine if the speed issue is browser related (Settings) I would
use a couple of Benchmark tools to determine your overall DSL
throughput.
