internet package loss

I have had this problem for a while now and cannot resolve it by myself.
am using XP with sp3, and during an Internet session the service becomes
unavailable, I am still connected but cannot send or receive packages, all I
can do
is reconnect, I use dialup only

Hi, WillofAustralia - This isn't enough information to get help. It could be
a faulty phone line, failing modem, problems at the ISP, malware, etc. etc.

The First Question Of Troubleshooting: If the problem is new, what changed
between the time things worked and the time they didn't?

The Second Question of Windows Troubleshooting: what is the malware/virus
status of the machine? If you think it is clean, what programs (and
versions) did you use to determine this?

Fixed with a small MS DOS batch file called winsock 1.35kb in size.
